Today's QT passage is very relevant
to most of us and so i decided to share it
The 4 most common ways we manage our emotions:
1)repress them-push them deep into the unconscious
and forget all about them (highly recommended)
2) suppress them-push them into subconscious but
not entirely forgotten and temporarily submerged
3)Express them- we can laugh,cry and stamp our feet,
GET ANGRY
4) Confess them- admit to our feelings but control the
expression of them so tat it is in accord with biblical
principles.
it is ALWAYS right to FEEL an emotion but it not
ALWAYS right to express it.
We can admit to feeling angry, but by an act of self
control(a fruit of the spirit), we must ensure that our
anger is not dumped on to someone in a way that hurts them.
But what if they hurt us?
"It is mine to avenge, I will repay", says the Lord
I ask, 'Lord can i help You a little bit with the avenging?"
He answers, "No, that part is Mine, I can do it better than you,
and My method will be CONSTRUCTIVE,not DESTRUCTIVE"
i must keep this in mind:
Always be willing to feel my emotions, but i will need to be
careful how i express them.

elated.

I'm considering going down to ikea again.
